The CINTESIS - Centre for Research in Health Technologies and Services is a large Research and Development (R&D) unit whose mission is to find answers and solutions, in the short term, for specific health problems, without ever losing sight of the balance between cost and efficiency.

Headquartered at the University of Porto, the CINTESIS is proud of its multicentric, decentralised and flexible nature, with a structure that includes 46 partner institutions (29 higher education institutions, 12 hospitals/health institutions and 5 health companies) and hubs at 6 higher education institutions, more specifically at 5 universities (University of Porto, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, University of Aveiro, University of Algarve and University of Madeira) and 1 polytechnic (Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto - Porto School of Nursing).

In total, the centre brings together more than 500 researchers, in 24 research groups working on 3 major thematic lines: Preventative Medicine & Societal Challenges (LT1), Clinical and Translational Research (LT2) and Data Science, Decision & Information Technologies (LT3).
